Konrad Antoni Ziolkowski grew up in a family with artistic traditions. During his high school years, he created his own compositions and advertising commissions. In 2001, he began studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw. During his studies, he also participated in the creation and organization of festivals, exhibitions and art and multimedia shows. He was a member of the unofficial art group ,,El Ni?o". In 2006, he graduated from the Academy with honors in the sculpture studio of Professor Zbigniew Makarewicz. Inspired by the nature of man, he creates his works in the spirit of cubism and expressionism, manifested not only in forms, but above all in color. With the help of these media, he seeks to capture and encapsulate human feelings in matter and show their interactions, through the composition of interacting shapes and solids. In addition to contemporary sculpture, he also works in classical sculpture, multimedia, computer graphics and animation.
"I don't want to shape and create metaphors for difficult topics such as the meaning of life or death.
I'm more in favor of breaking down simple emotions and gestures, behaviors into parts. Everything that makes up a sculpture is extremely important to me - form, shapes, drawing, color and composition, to which I devote a lot of time. Sometimes it's even weeks - but it's all just to create that particular living figure I saw in my imagination. However, I'm still not completely satisfied, I have almost everything at my disposal: shape, color and drawing - great, but still something is missing." - Konrad Ziolkowski.
